10 Of The Best Idol Group Debut Songs

An idol group’s debut song is like the first impression upon meeting someone. It can either break you, or make you. A strong debut track can help idol groups gain approval from fans and rise to instant fame, hence the reason why debut tracks are so important. Let’s take a look a which idol groups did right with their debut track.

10. MBLAQ - Oh Yeah

“Oh Yeah” is catchy and gives listeners a feel of what type of music MBLAQ would be bringing to the table. Their powerful dance also left a good impression on fans.

9. KARA - Break It

The ladies of KARA showed off their strong vocals with this song and impressed all their listeners.

8. Wonder Girls - Irony

Wonder Girls made a great choice in picking this song as their debut track. From the MV to their dance choreography, and even their outfits, everything was perfect. Through this song, they showed that they were determined to make it to the top.

7. DBSK - Hug

DBSK’s heavenly voices in this debut track made everyone think, “This group’s talent is no joke.” Listeners could tell that DBSK would be a force to be reckon with.

6. SNSD - Into The New World

This track still remains a favorite for SNSD fans as it showcased the members’ sweet voices and innocence.

The song is catchy and made everyone look forward to their future releases, which is something all idol groups strive for with their debut songs.

For a female group to make such a fierce and strong debut was surprising, but attracted many fans who appreciated the new style they were bring to the Korean music industry. They proved that they could hold their own without embracing the typical female concepts.

3. CNBLUE - I’m A Loner

CNBLUE gained instant popularity with this song. Their debut track set the bar high for rookies and helped them place a steady foothold into the Korean music industry.

2. miss A - Bad Girl, Good Girl

This song was a strong contender for first place but you’ll understand why it didn’t grab the #1 spot when you see below which song did. This song not only helped miss A break the record for grabbing a win on a music show in the shortest time, but also helped them take home the Best Debut Song of 2010. The song was catchy and their dance choreography was simple and memorable. I’m sure there were many people who walked around their house doing the “Shut Up Boy” dance.

1. SHINee - Replay

Any list regarding the best KPOP debut songs is invalid if SHINee’s “Replay” isn’t included. SM Entertainment really outdid themselves with this song. The song is sweet, catchy and made fans “Replay” it over and over again. Their dance choreography is also one of the best ever for a debut song. The track still remains as one of SHINee’s greatest hits, on par with their hit songs like “Ring Ding Dong,” and “Lucifer.”
